Dearest Gentle Readers,
This author finds herself compelled to once again report on the Ladies 3’s second game of the hockey season. After an incredibly wet week, the sun reappeared and shone down upon the team as they secured an astonishing 5-1 win.
The team worked as a unit throughout and made a formidable force that the opposition could not break. Within the first half, thanks to Niamh Wase and Francesca Haywood, Letchworth scored two goals.
However, St Albans attempted to make a comeback and scored which was a mistake the Letchworth Ladies would not allow to happen again. The defensive line with Jade Hope’s impeccable reading of the game made it nigh on impossible for the opposition to break through again making the St Albans’ attackers job too difficult.
The team as a whole stepped up with Bekky Newton owning the middle of the pitch, distributing the ball exactly where it needed to go. Captain Jo Pinn and Nell Haywood made quite the dynamic duo securing another two goals in the second half. To finish off the game, Francesca Haywood scored once again and the team ended the game with an incredible 5 goals.
Overall, a rather successful match indeed.
