Having been selected for the GB U21s team, last week Tom Spreckley travelled to Malaysia to take part in the Sultan of Johor Cup.
After a closely fought round robin played over 6 days, the top 3 teams, Australia, Great Britain and India, were all level on 10 points each with Great Britain and Australia heading to the final (Australia having the edge over the group on goal difference).
And what a final match it was! Fueled with goals galore, the GB team battled hard and came back from being 2-0 down to win the match 3-2 and lift the trophy!
Massive congratulations to the team, and of course to Tom for this amazing achievement!
Tom started his playing career as a junior at Letchworth HC, working his way through the teams to the men's 1st team before transferring to Cambridge City and then to Loughborough to further his hockey. His hardwork and determination has lead him to this success and LHC couldn't be prouder!
