Ladies 3s vs Bishops Stortford 6

Letchworth Ladies 3s 1–1 Bishop’s Stortford 6s

Letchworth Ladies 3s welcomed Bishop’s Stortford 6s for our second match of the season — and our second 1–1 draw!

Stortford caught us off guard and opened the scoring just two minutes into the game. Not quite the start we had planned, but Letchworth quickly settled and refused to let the early goal knock us.

Our defence stayed well organised, with some lovely saves from our goalkeeper and strong defensive play keeping Stortford from extending their lead. Chloe provided one of the highlights of the first half with a fabulous ball through the middle, showing what we could create with quick, positive play.

With several injuries and players stepping into unfamiliar positions, our usual shape wasn’t always quite there. At times we pushed a little too high, while some hit-outs needed more movement and calling — plenty for the training list, then!

The second half was much brighter, and just one minute after the restart, Lucy took her chance first time and found the back of the goal to make it 1–1.

From there, our communication improved and we moved the ball with more purpose. Our goalkeeper produced more excellent saves, while the defence remained composed to ensure Stortford couldn’t find another.

Player of the Match went to Lisa, who was the engine in the middle of the pitch. She worked tirelessly, linked the play and helped keep the team moving from start to finish.

Another point secured despite the injuries and positional reshuffle. At this rate, we’re quickly becoming specialists in the 1–1 draw!
