After last weeks game was cancelled, the ladies 1’s began their post Christmas campaign at home against 3rd placed Saffron Walden. Letchworth dominated first half possession and were unlucky to go into half time 1-0 down after conceding a short corner which unfortunately deflected off one of their own players past Molly in goal. They came out fighting in the second half. After some excellent work down the right, the ball found its way to Ellie who dispatched it into the bottom corner to make it 1-1. Now in the ascendancy Letchworth continued to press forward and won a short corner. The well worked routine passed the ball to Caz at right slip who drew the defender before feeding back to Ellie in the middle who dispatched the ball into the back of the net to make it 2-1. Letchworth rode their luck at times as Saffron Walden pushed for an equaliser but held on to claim all 3 points.
