A morning of autumnal mellowness greeted the 5s for their mid-table clash with Saffron Walden. After mild concern about being able to see the goal in the fog, we started strong - but conceded a short in the opening 5 minutes. Not deterred, we struck back in 8th minute with our short - a cracking shot from Jo Thorpe zoomed past the goalie. The match continued with great pace, passing and determination from the team - lovely to have some new faces on pitch as well. We sealed the deal in the 49th minute with a well controlled short corner; another screamer off Thorpe’s stick. Saffron Walden were determined to the end to claw it back, but some fantastic defending kept them out.
