Ladies 5’s came out roaring for the first game of the season. Utilising the new system, there were great examples of passing, quick balls and calling out in free space. Our first goal was a great example of the passing we’ve been practicing - Zoe, Jo and Cat were all involved in feeding it to Den, who scored a cracking goal around the 14th minute. In the second half, we held up well under pressure of multiple short corners against us, and a run of play that kept the ball firmly in the other half. Great communication got us to a point where, when the opportunity arose - we took it! Zanna had a fabulous run into the D, and scored a belter into the corner of the goal, 66th minute. Everyone came off feeling this was a fab start to the season, with MoM choice being a spread across the whole team. Zanna took the gonk, due to her fabulous runs and brilliant goal!
