A frustrating game away at Hertford. We had 80% of possession in the first half, with some lovely hockey played - attempts on goal, short corners awarded, all that good stuff. Haidee got the ball in the back of the net in one of our short corners, the ball deflecting off the keepers pads into the top of the net, but the umpire deemed it invalid.
As there are no points awarded for dominant play or shots on target we started the second half still at 0-0. Hertford came out like a different team and we found ourselves under pressure from the restart. Our defence handled the onslaught well, with Sharon making some great saves but ultimately Hertford scored twice. Our forays at the other end were handled deftly by their keeper. So much so that one of our players gave their MoM vote to her! Elsie and Allegra were joint MoM, demonstrating intelligent play and determination.
