Blue Pitch Battle: Letchworth vs Bedford
On Bedford’s turf of brightest blue,
The whistle blew, the tension grew.
Letchworth lined up, calm and keen,
A ready, rising, fearless team.
Bedford struck first — a 1–0 blow,
But spirits stayed unshaken, low.
For straight away our colours burned,
A swift reply, the match returned.
At the back, Justine and Gina stood
Strong as stone, steadfast and good.
Through midfield’s heart came Jax and Sue,
And Gemma driving passes through.
Baz grafted hard, with grit and fire,
While Tia’s touch, so clean, inspired.
Up front the young ones danced with grace,
Quick feet, sharp lines, a surging chase.
Their link-ups sliced the space apart,
A goal born from a team with heart.
But Bedford pushed — another score,
Yet Letchworth answered one goal more.
At half-time sat at two apiece,
A battle balanced, tight, caprice.
The second half was ours to write:
Letchworth pressed with all their might.
Wave on wave, we claimed the game,
Outplayed Bedford, stoked the flame.
Helen’s strikes came hard and true,
Almost sealing victory blue.
But holding firm, brave through it all,
Sharon stood tall between the walls—
With crucial saves, calm, sharp, and sure,
She kept the scoreline 2–2 secure.
And Shelley, steady, strong of will,
Played every minute with quiet skill.
You’d never know her back was sore,
She moved like fire, she fought for more.
All played well — a fearless crew,
And Girlie of the Game was Sue.
On Bedford’s pitch of shining hue,
Letchworth’s pride came blazing through.
