Despite great efforts all round and a very frustrating game, a win just wasn’t on to be this week.
With 3 key players missing and a few 4s stepping in to help, the line-up looked very different from usual. Chloe stepped up to play in goal and was outstanding making some fantastic saves that genuinely kept us in the game. She organised the defence brilliantly and fully earned herself MOM.
Royston were quick, well-drilled, and with the umpiring… let’s say interesting, very few decisions went our way. Even their first goal involved more than one kick by the player before it crossed the line, but apparently that was all fine! It just wasn’t Letchworth’s day.
Despite this Letchworth remained professional and didn’t stop fighting. Lois produced some lovely play, and Lottie threw in determined tackles all match long. Unfortunately, we just couldn’t find the goals and play to bring it back.
DOD went to Sue, who almost got carded within seconds of arriving on the pitch — mainly because she joined the pitch at the 25, thinking it was the centre line and then later confidently claiming at least she’d stayed on her feet all match, only for the whole team to remind her she definitely hadn’t! Oops
Onwards and upwards for next week — the only way is up, and hopefully with the regular squad back, a win should definitely be back on the cards. Well done team .
