Fun in the sun, part 2

Another sunny day, another strong performance from the Ladies 4s. This time we went one better and secured our first win of the season, and it feels great!!

Frances started our goal-fest (humour us please, goals were such a rarity last season) 15 minutes into the first half, finishing off a lovely forward movement from the team. More chances followed, but they were not to be and we went into half-time up by the one goal.

A cracking short corner shot by Sarah was unstoppable and squeaked in by centimetres on the left hand post. Goal #3 was courtesy of a Shelley/Cat combo, both on loan from the 5s.

Our defence did a great job keeping Stevenage out of the D, giving debutant Carrie a relatively untroubled introductory game. No short corners awarded against us! CB’s training masterclass in how to defend was put into practice beautifully.

Roll on next week, we’re keen to prove this wasn’t a fluke win.
